During Southern Sweden Design Days, you can visit The Airbag Project at our Malmö store – an exhibition by Malmö Upcycling Service (M.U.S.) where local fashion designers and textile artists have transformed waste airbags from car industries into fashion and art!

Reviving Waste with Creativity

M.U.S., founded and run by industrial designer Anna Gudmundsdottir, has taken a proactive approach to waste management by sourcing local waste streams and repurposing them. Discarded airbags are currently nearly impossible to recycle, making them highly likely to end up in landfills. The vision of the project is to show how the material can be reused instead.

Meet the creatives

For The Airbag Project, M.U.S. has invited five local fashion designers and textile artists, whose work will be exhibited at APLACE Malmö during Southern Sweden Design Days. The brief for the invited creatives was to create a free concept based on the material that sheds new light on its potential to be re-used in a different industry.
